CSols today announced the release of version 2.8 of its industry-leading AqcTools quality control software solution. This latest update delivers significant improvements to chart visualisation capabilities, streamlined data management features, and numerous user interface enhancements designed to boost productivity and address specific client requirements.

The new release features a completely redesigned installer that automates database configuration for both SQL Server and Oracle environments. This enhancement dramatically reduces deployment time and complexity by automatically handling connection string setup and INI file creation, making it easier than ever to deploy AqcTools across an organisation.
Advanced Chart Visualisation
Version 2.8 introduces enhanced visualisation capabilities, including:
- Optional 4SD (standard deviation) line display with associated configuration settings
- Custom chart labels through INI file configuration
- Limit tooltip functionality showing detailed release information when clicking on chart data points
- Improved handling of expected value lines on charts
Innovative Data Organisation with Suites
A standout feature in the new release is the ability to define Suites – collections of AqcIds in a specific order. This powerful organisational tool allows users to:
- Create private or shared Suites
- Filter available charts by various criteria
- Arrange charts in custom or automated sorting orders
- Navigate sequentially through all charts in a suite
Enhanced Reporting and Administrative Controls
For advanced users, AqcTools 2.8 now supports UNION statements in SQL queries, enabling more complex data relationships to be explored in a single query. Administrative capabilities have also been expanded with the ability to permanently delete Jobs and to view and reactivate previously deleted users.
Improved User Experience
Numerous UI refinements enhance the overall user experience, including:
- Improved tabbing sequence for more intuitive navigation
- Enhanced “Edit Dataset” menu functionality
- Quicker AQC selection with a dedicated button under Manual Result Entry
- Updated visual design with watermarked white background
- Alphabetical sorting of actions when assigning to Job Roles
Comprehensive Bug Fixes
The release also addresses issues identified by users, with fixes including chart scaling, result editing, date handling, and database operations.
